SO Melanie Lampitok Castillo and SG Julius Candido Nietes receive certificates of commendation for their swift and commendable actionWhen the Quezon City Police District held its traditional Monday flag raising ceremony at the barangay hall in Brgy. Marilag, Quezon City, on April 7, 2025, the Philippine National Police (PNP) extended a special invitation to the LINKED Group.
This was in recognition of the group’s exemplary contribution to a case involving children in conflict with the law (CICL).
A major highlight of the ceremony was the awarding of commendations to outstanding PNP personnel and community force multipliers who have made significant contributions to peace, order and public safety.
Among the awardees were security officer Melanie Lampitok Castillo and security guard Julius Candido Nietes, security personnel from the LINKED Group. They were honored for their alertness and swift action that led to the interception of three CICLs involved in the theft of a mountain bike worth P100,000. The incident occurred at the City Center parking area near Anonas LRT station—an area under Castillo and Nietes’ watch— showcasing their vigilance and proactive approach to crime prevention.
Police Lt. Col. Angelito de Juan, station commander of Police Station 8, applauded the efforts of the security officers.
He noted that the incident involving minors traveling to Quezon City to commit theft was even featured by local news outlets.
“Being alert is important— if we are not, people can steal from us,” he remarked. “If all of us are alert and our coordination is good, cases like this will be easily solved.”
The recognition awarded to Castillo and Nietes reinforces that the LINKED Group is alert, dependable and an effective force multiplier in support of local law enforcement. The LINKED Group remains steadfast in their mission to serve with integrity, discipline and pride—protecting communities with unwavering dedication.
