KNOWLEDGE Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) marks its 27th year of championing accessible, quality education this June as it advances initiatives for school year 2026-2027 in line with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) transition to a three-term school calendar.

To ensure continuity across the restructured academic year, Knowledge Channel, which also airs on DepEd TV, has mapped a broadcasting grid to DepEd’s opening, instructional and endof-term phases, ensuring video lessons are delivered in step with classroom needs throughout the school cycle. The channel is available nationwide through cable, direct-to-home satellite service, digital free TV, online streaming through iWant and Cignal Play, and the “School Anywhere” block on Kapamilya Channel on cable and free TV via ALLTV, and on A2Z.

KCFI has also launched the Knowledge Channel Learning Hub (knowledgechannel. org/learning-hub), a dedicated subsite that equips teachers and parents with ready-to-use teaching guides, curated video lessons, thematic activities and quick explainers.

Preparing educators

KCFI conducted Knowledge Channel Learning Conferences (LearnCon) throughout the month of May. The second LearnCon on May 23, organized in partnership with City Savings Bank, explored “The Power of Play: PlayBased and Inquiry-Driven Learning Through Video Lessons.” This LearnCon highlighted insights from Ramona Magdalena Victoria, a senior education program specialist at the DepEd Central Office’s Bureau of Curriculum Development.

The third LearnCon on May 30, entitled “Smart Screen Time: Strengthening Foundational Literacy through Multimedia-Enhanced Instructional Strategies,” featured Dr. Maria Alicia Bustos-Orosa, professorial lecturer at De La Salle University-Manila.

Expanding content KCFI is expanding its library with new shows. Through its renewed partnership with BPI Foundation (BPIF), KCFI is producing new episodes of “Estudyantipid” that will help learners to further develop financial literacy skills. As part of BPIF’s “FinEd (Financial Education) Unboxed” program, 20 Knowledge Channel TV (KC TV) packages will be deployed to schools in Iloilo, Rizal and Mindanao.

On May 28, the Schools Division Office of Rizal, Schneider Electric (Philippines) Inc., MakeSense Asia and KCFI formalized their partnership for Project Shaping Energy, an initiative that promotes energy literacy and climate action in  schools. Supporting this effort, KCFI and Schneider produced “Enna You Know,” a new video lesson that introduces learners to sustainability concepts and environmentally responsible practices.

Further, KCFI and Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata Inc. renewed their partnership on June 2 to produce a new episode of “Next Level” focused on environmental conservation and awareness. KCFI and Murata will also deploy five additional KC TV packages to schools in Ifugao.
