Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) closes the year on a high note, celebrating a remarkable run of achievements that highlight its commitment to enriching education and learning for the Filipino children. KCFI


Seven of KCFI’s curriculum-aligned shows received Anak TV Seals at the recent Anak TV Seal Awards 2025: “AgriKids” (produced with the Agricultural Training Institute), “EcoPlay” (developed with Unilever-Breeze), “Estudyantipid” (created with BPI Foundation), “Kasaysayan TV” (with the Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma Foundation), “Payong K-Lusugan” (a collaboration with Unilever-Domex), “Siklo ng Enerhiya” (a project with the Department of Energy) and “Wikaharian” (produced with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts or NCCA).

“Ready, Set, Read!” was also named as the Philippines’ National Winner for the Best Children’s Program category of the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA), which recognizes excellence in film, television and digital media across the Asia Pacific region. “Ready, Set, Read!” was honored at the AACA Grand Awards Gala in Singapore on Dec. 4, alongside other national winners from China, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan.

Rina Lopez was recognized and elevated to the Circle of Excellence for Woman Leaders at the 16th Asia CEO Awards. The KCFI president and exOur 25th anniversary celebration with the Lopez Group of companies and our private company partners ecutive director was awarded alongside a group of exceptional women leading change, strengthening communities and pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in business and society. Under her leadership, KCFI continues to thrive not only as a sought-after intervention in teaching and learning but in policy innovations as well.

Celebrating knowledge, inspiration and hope

KCFI kick-started its series of celebrations for its 25th anniversary on Nov. 27 with a luncheon, recognizing 62 corporate and corporate social responsibility donors from the Lopez Group and other companies as well as past and present members of its board of trustees and individual partners.

KCFI awarded the winners of the first “Gurong May K: Best Teachers of Knowledge Channel,” with Jonathan Mayo of the Department of Education Schools Division Office of Batangas (under the Basic Education category) and National Early Child Development Center’s Zarlina Bacadon of Naawan, Misamis Oriental (under the Early Childhood Development category) winning their respective categories and receiving a trophy, certificate, P50,000 in cash and a Knowledge Channel TV package.

Partnerships for values

In celebration of Filipino Values Month in November, KCFI and the NCCA brought the Bálay Pinoy school caravan to two public schools in the Schools Division Office of Manila on Nov. 20 and Nov. 25.

Celebrating National Children’s Month also in November, KCFI partnered with the Council for the Welfare of Children for the “Connected with Care: Guiding Young Children in Safe and Developmentally Appropriate Media Use” online conference on Nov. 22.
