As school year (SY) 2026-2027 approaches, Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) encourages parents to give their children a strong start, especially in their early years that shape lifelong learning.

KCFI advances this by equipping educators, parents and learners nationwide with access to curriculum-aligned video lessons while engaging partners to expand and improve learning opportunities for more Filipino children.

Parents can prepare their children for the upcoming school year using KCFI’s extensive library of curriculum-aligned video lessons.

These resources comprehensively cover core subjects for basic education through flagship shows like “MathDali” for math, “Wikaharian” for Filipino and “Ready, Set, Read!” for English.

Aside from basic education, KCFI also has video lessons for early childhood development (ECD) for children aged 3-4.

These include “Musikantahan” and “Kwentoons.” Parents and learners can easily access these educational materials at home through DepEd TV powered by Knowledge Channel.

KCFI’s offline learning solutions for schools with limited or no internet access

to integrating multimedia into play-based, children-centered and developmentally appropriate activities.

LearnCon featured two main modules: Dr. Rita Lucas, dean of the Centro Escolar University School of Education, Liberal Arts, Music and Social Work, discussed the benefits of media in supporting cognitive and socio-emotional skills, while KCFI consultant for ECD Dannah Ong guided participants in extending Knowledge Channel video lessons into hands-on activities like singing, drawing and movement games.

Upcoming LearnCons on May 23 and May 30 for basic education aim to equip K-12 teachers with vital pedagogical tools and multimedia strategies in time for the opening of SY 2026-2027.

Aside from providing capacity-building opportunities for educators online, KCFI continues to implement its training programs on-ground.

Teachers from 10 schools in Calamba City, Laguna, were trained on the Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-base

d Pedagogies program with the support of Xylem Watermark on May 6-8.

Meanwhile, KCFI shared its educational advocacy with the next generation of media practitioners at the Pinoy Media Congress 2026.

Platforms and partnerships head Danie Sedilla-Cruz addressed communication students through a talk on how curriculum-aligned video lessons can directly help address the country’s pressing gaps in literacy and numeracy skills.
