AS the school year draws to a close, Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) congratulates the moving up and graduating batches of 2026. From the young children in child development centers (CDCs) to elementary and high school learners across the country, your school year was a full journey of discovering, rediscovering and embracing learning as well as new and better ways to learn. KCFI celebrates the hard work and perseverance, and a better future of every Filipino child.
Bringing the joy of traditional Filipino games (“Larong Pinoy”) back to schools, the LarOlympics of KCFI and Unilever-Breeze reached over 148,000 Grade 4 to Grade 6 learners in 103 public elementary schools nationwide. Formerly known as EcoPlay, the LarOlympics for school year 2025-2026 was implemented across the schools division offices (SDOs) of Marikina City, Quezon City, Cebu City and Davao City.
As part of the program, KCFI produced a video lesson to educate learners on Larong Pinoy and the importance of active play. Larong Pinoy was integrated into the PE lessons across the four SDOs. LarOlympics wrapped up with interschool meets in each SDO, empowering more than 1,800 representative learners in games like tumbang preso, agawan base and sipa. Winning schools received a Knowledge Channel TV (KC TV) package, a 50-inch smart TV with a hard drive preloaded with curriculum-based video lessons, interactive e-games and session guides, providing teachers and learners with accessible, curriculum-aligned resources to enrich learning in their classrooms.
LarOlympics proved that traditional Filipino games are much more than just childhood pastimes; they are powerful tools for holistic development. Learners not only rediscovered the rich heritage of Larong Pinoy but also cultivated vital life skills like teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical wellness. Through this partnership, KCFI and Unilever-Breeze paved the way for a healthier, more culturally connected and resilient generation.
In February, KCFI expanded access to learning resources from early childhood development (ECD) to basic education through partnerships with organizations supporting its mission.
For ECD, Area 1 CDC in Parañaque City received a KC TV-ECD package courtesy of S&P Global. This was followed by the turnover of KC TVECD packages for Taghangin CDC and San Pedro CDC in Morong, Rizal, made possible by the NYK-TDG Friendship Foundation.
Meanwhile, six beneficiary elementary schools in Pangasinan received Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KC PML) packages through the DigitaEskwela program of AboitizPower and Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative. As part of program monitoring, KCFI visited Calero-Lanang Elementary School in Morong, Rizal, on Feb. 23. The school is a beneficiary of the Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-based Pedagogies training program conducted in partnership with the Morong High School Alumni Association’s Northern California and Florida chapters.
