Employees from across the Lopez Group start the 4.8-km. walk around FPIPEvery step counts, especially when taken together.

On June 28, 2025, nearly 600 Lopez Group employees, together with their family members and organizational partners, gathered at the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Batangas for this year’s Walk the Talk (WTT), which culminated the monthlong Lopez Envi Festival 2025.

With the theme “Kapamilya Para sa Kapaligiran at Kalusugan,” the walk carried a call to care for our health and the environment, together.

The morning began at the FPIP Pavilion, where participants were welcomed by FPIP chief commercial officer Joval Pantangco, Lopez Group HR Council chair Mercedes “Cedie” Lopez Vargas (MLV) and Oscar M. Lopez (OML) Center executive director Dr. Rodel Lasco.

“FPIP represents the Lopez Values as we develop businesses and jobs for Filipinos. I hope you get a chance to see our world-class facilities and locators as you walk through our park,” said Pantangco.

“We are in our 19th year of Walk the Talk, a tradition where companies come together to get to know each other and continue our commitment to good health and the environment,” said MLV, reminding everyone of the deeper meaning behind the event.

Before participants laced up for the walk, they gathered for a short program that included a special screening of the “Kwentong Kalikasan, Likas sa Kapamilya” video entries.

Spearheaded by OML Center, the storytelling initiative encouraged Lopez Group employees to share personal accounts of how environmental and climate issues are impacting their daily lives, their work and their community, and how they are willing to step up to be part of the solution.

After the screening, participants joined a quick warm-up before heading out on the 4.8-kilometer trail that wound through FPIP’s scenic Consuelo Park, its iconic solar-powered bridge and main roadways.

To end the program, participants were invited to head over to Stonewell Molave Homes in Lipa, Batangas, for a round of “Bingo sa Hapon.”

The day didn’t just promote physical activity. The traditional WTT also deepened the Group’s commitment to sustainability, with tree-planting and wellness activities enriching the experience for all participants. It was a full-circle moment that reflected the core of the Lopez Envi Festival: celebrating what we can achieve when we walk—and act—as one Kapamilya.
