The ABS CBN Philharmonic Orchestra's Spotlight Series features Richard Bamping! In another spectacle of excellence and skill, the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra (ABS-CBN P.O.) Spotlight Series will feature Richard Bamping, principal cellist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HKPO), at the BDO Francisco Santiago Hall on September 20. This is the orchestra’s third feature concert of the year.

Prior to being part of the HKPO for the past 20 years, Bamping made a name for himself as one of the best cellists and leading instrumentalists of chamber music, having toured with many chamber music ensembles across the United Kingdom, Europe and the US. A founding member of the Hong Kong String Quartet, he is considered one of the busiest session recording artists in Hong Kong.

Bamping plays with a cello made in 1674, one of the only eight surviving of Andrea Guarneri’s work. The program will feature Elgar’s Cello Concerto and Brahms’ Tragic Overture and Symphony No. 1.

The upcoming performance fills in the last concert of the Spotlight Series, a chain of concerts featuring masterpieces from world-renowned composers, performers and Hero Face Off 2014 music masters.
