Security officer Angel Carzon, detachment commander at Energy Development Corporation (EDC)- Bacman, was commended for his swift and decisive response during an alcohol-related incident on April 26, 2025.
Just before noon, Carzon noticed suspicious behavior during a routine roving inspection from an individual attempting to hide a tumbler; it was later found to contain alcoholic liquor. The officer immediately called the site medical team to conduct breath tests, which confirmed that three individuals had consumed alcohol. A fourth worker, found asleep, was too intoxicated to complete the test.
In strict enforcement of EDC’s alcohol-free workplace policy, Carzon acted promptly to contain the situation, preventing a potential safety and security breach. His vigilance, sound judgment and calm leadership earned praise from both EDC and the LINKED Group.
